Position: Operations Manager

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Salary/Hourly: $70,000 - $85,000
Position Summary:
The Operations Manager (OM) is the chief administrative officer of the Williams Lake Stampede Association, responsible for strategic leadership, operational management, and community representation. Reporting to the volunteer Board of Directors, the OM oversees staff and volunteers, finances, program delivery, marketing, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement.
This role requires a dynamic, hands-on leader with strong business acumen, outstanding people skills, and a deep commitment to the organization’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Governance
· Collaborate with the Board to set strategic goals, policies, and operational plans
· Provide regular updates, analysis, and recommendations
· Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven organizational culture
Staff & Volunteer Management
· Recruit, supervise, and mentor staff and key volunteers
· Promote teamwork, accountability, and professional development
· Oversee communication, delegation, and performance management
Program & Event Management
· Lead planning and execution of programs, events, and initiatives
· Manage timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholder relationships
· Ensure alignment with organizational goals and community priorities
Financial Oversight
· Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting
· Identify and pursue grant and funding opportunities
· Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and reporting obligations
Marketing & Community Engagement
· Build relationships with stakeholders, sponsors, media, and partners
· Lead marketing, communications, and public relations strategies
· Act as the public representative of the organization
Qualifications:
· Post-secondary education in business, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field
· Proven success in senior leadership, preferably in non-profit or public sectors
· Strong people management and team-building skills
· Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
· Financial and operational management expertise
· Knowledge of marketing, fundraising, and strategic planning
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

· Experience working with a volunteer board

Compensation:
