The Williams Lake Stampede Association is seeking applicants to our Summer Student position for full time, temporary employment running 19 May – 15 July 2026. The Williams Lake Stampede is a not-for-profit organization set to promote and recognize local western heritage, to offer professional rodeo events in Williams Lake, and promote community enterprises of all natures. Every July long weekend the Williams Lake Stampede Association plans and organizes a community celebration through a professional sporting event in Williams Lake.

Job Title: Assistant to the Office Administrator
Employment Term: 8 weeks (20 May – 15 July, 2026)
Compensation: $20.00-25.00 per hour, 35 hour work week
Qualifications:
ü Legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, PR, or refugee status in Canada) between 15 and 30 years old as per the Cariboo Chilcotin Aboriginal Training Employment Centre Summer Jobs guidelines.
ü Preference will be given to applicants that self identify as an under represented group in our community.
ü Valid driver’s licence.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
ü Quality writing, speaking, and problem-solving skills.
ü Multi-tasking skills and ability to work well under pressure with multiple supervisors and parallel deadlines.
ü Quality communication skills with both the public and members of the organization.
ü Good customer service skills.
ü Must be flexible and detail orientated; able to work independently and work well within a team.
ü Computer literate and experience with Microsoft Office, Showpass, Adobe, social media platforms, and other web-based file storage, exchange, and design programs.
ü Willing to learn new skills and further develop your leadership and teamwork skills.

This position is temporary, full time at 35 hours per week and begins May 20th for approx. 8 weeks (Duration and hours may vary.)
To be eligible, you must:
Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period (exceptions can be made to High School applicants that have graduated early and are available to work all necessary shifts)
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist with grounds upkeeping and maintenance including mowing, weeding, watering and landscaping
Identify and assist with general facility repairs and maintenance as needed
Assist with equipment upkeep and identifying repairs when needed (painting, staining, etc.)
Assist in facility rentals and casual usage – ensuring facility remains free of garbage and proper parking is adhered too
Assist Campground facility in general cleaning and groundskeeping as assigned by Campground staff
Assist renters and rental groups and ensure facility is being used properly and safely
Regular cleaning and upkeep of Stampede facilities (buildings, washrooms)
Assist in overall success of the Williams Lake Stampede Event
Job Requirements:
Must be able to work a variety of shifts that could include some evenings and weekends
Must be punctual and have good time management skills
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada for this position
Reliable transportation to get to work
Grounds Maintenance experience is an asset but will train
Possess the physical condition and health to carry out the required duties of this position
Maintain good interpersonal skills
Have good verbal and written communication skills
Be a self-starter, independent and able to work alone or in a team environment with minimum supervision
Compensation: 35 hours week at $25/hr – Variable working hours, weekdays, some evenings and weekends
