The Williams Lake Stampede would not exist without the tireless efforts of the Board of Directors and they are just a part of the story.  Hundreds of volunteers from a variety of backgrounds give their time, expertise and a whole lot of elbow grease to make this world famous rodeo a success.  Hats off to all of you! And, we hope to see you all at the Williams Lake Stampede!

President’s Welcome Message

IMG_1358.JPG

A warm Cariboo welcome to you all for the 93rd annual World Famous Williams Lake Stampede! Whether you are joining us for a day, or, the weekend you will find any number of activities and attractions to entertain and interest all Stampede fans.

Thursday to Sunday we host 4 world class professional rodeo performances, featuring the best competitors and animal athletes in North America. In addition to our professional rodeo events, enjoy the thrills (and occasional spill!) of the Mountain Race and Wild Cowgirls flat race - two very special events you will only find at the Williams Lake Stampede. During intermission, experience the Full Throttle Trick Riding of Shelby Pierson and Piper Yule.

On Monday, July 1, we celebrate Canada’s birthday and our own rodeo history with the Cariboo Heritage Gathering and Ranch Rodeo. We are very proud of the journey of rodeo and western heritage in the Cariboo - our Stampede Board, along with the Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin, are honoured to champion the celebration of our past and embrace our future in this 93rd year of the Williams Lake Stampede. Monday offers a special chance to peruse historical displays and photos, enjoy live music, and watch Cariboo ranch hands demonstrate their skills in a traditional ranch rodeo.

Come through our Bronc Buster Trade Fair, offering an array of both shopping and snacks to satisfy your appetite. Be sure to make a stop at our very own Stampede Store to pick up your limited-edition souvenirs, memorabilia, and collectable poster for 2019. For those of you who want to experience a “behind the scenes” look at the sport of rodeo our Saturday and Sunday morning Animal Athlete Tour is a must. Our Kids Korral and Young Gunz Rodeo offers enjoyable entertainment and activities for all our little cowgirls and cowboys.

Our weekend entertainment doesn’t stop when the sun goes down! The Sandtronic Concert Stage in our Let ‘R Buck Saloon will once again be the place to meet old and new friends to dance the night away with some electrifying and exclusive live music performances. For those of you from out of town the Stampede Campground is the place to hang your hat for a few days.

The Williams Lake Stampede Association was awarded the Williams Lake Chamber of Commerce Tourism Excellence Award, and was acknowledged by USA Today as one of the top 10 destination rodeos in North America – both hometown and international recognition we are honoured to receive. My hat is off to each and every one of our volunteers and sponsors that make this event so special, year after year. We can’t wait to host you July long weekend at Stampede Park for the “Greatest Show on Dirt”!
